Walk & Talk Therapy

Are you drawn to experiencing therapy beyond the couch and into nature?

Is it hard to stay seated for traditional talk therapy and are you wanting more movement as part of your healing journey?

Walk & Talk Therapy offers a mindful, movement-based approach to therapy where we meet outdoors and walk together in nature while engaging in therapy. This approach can support emotional processing while also helping to release tension, reduce rumination, increase energy, and ease symptoms of anxiety and depression.

As we walk, I may invite you to gently engage your senses—notice the sights, sounds, and rhythms of nature—as a way to support grounding, presence, and connection with yourself.

If it feels supportive, we can also pause for simple mindfulness practices or gentle yoga postures to help release stress and cultivate a greater sense of calm in both body and mind. Movement is always optional and guided by your comfort.

Because Walk & Talk Therapy takes place in public spaces, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in the same way it is in a private office. That said, it is highly unlikely that others will hear our conversation.

We remain mindful of our surroundings, adjust our volume as needed, and can avoid sensitive topics when others are nearby.

Walk And Talk FAQs in Raleigh, NC

Does insurance cover it?
Unfortunately it does not, I charge my regular fee for these sessions of $170.

Do I have to be fit to participate?
Nope! This can be more of a gentle walk and I will follow your lead on how far you want to walk or if you need to take breaks. We can pace ourselves and we don’t have to walk the entire time. We can sit on a bench for some of the time and talk during the session. It is advisable to check  with your Primary care Dr. before starting Walk and Talk Therapy.  We can also sit on a bench for part of it.

How long does it last?      We meet for the entire 53 minute session but we can walk as little or as much as you  would like for this session.

Help and hope are just an email away!
