When Weekly Sessions Aren’t Enough, Intensives can help
You’ve been showing up for everyone… except yourself.
You’ve spent years putting others’ needs ahead of your own, telling yourself you’ll rest “later” — but later never comes. You are always on the go. Its hard for you to stay still.
You’re emotionally exhausted, your boundaries feel blurred, and the idea of slowing down feels almost impossible. When you do take time for yourself, you feel guilty and wonder if you are being selfish.
Underneath it all, you’re carrying heavy emotions that you rarely give yourself the space to process. Worry is always in the background leaving you in a constant state of tension. Feelings of depression weighs you down and makes everything feel harder. Past traumatic experiences still linger, showing up in intrusive thoughts, memories, and that uneasy feeling in your body that you can’t shake. You feel like you are just surviving, not thriving like you wish you could be.
You’ve tried to push past it, focusing on work, family, ignoring it or taking care of everyone else. But the overwhelm always comes back. You’ve noticed that weekly therapy has helped some, but progress feels slow, and you want deeper change. You’re ready for a more holistic, focused approach that addresses your mind, body, and spirit.
Now imagine this instead:
You wake up feeling clear-headed and grounded, not weighed down by yesterday’s worries. You are able to put yourself first without guilt and take care of your body, mind and spirt.
You move through your day knowing exactly where your boundaries are — and feeling confident in holding them.
Your body feels lighter, no longer stuck in constant tension.
The intrusive thoughts have quieted, and when challenges arise, you know how to meet them with tools that actually work.
You feel connected to yourself in a way you haven’t in years — calm, steady, and free to live the life you’ve been imagining.
You don’t have to keep living on autopilot or in survival mode.
We can work together in a therapy intensive — a dedicated block of time to focus entirely on you, your healing, and your growth. In this space, you’ll:
Process what’s been holding you back in a safe, supportive environment
Learn practical tools for setting boundaries and protecting your energy
Develop coping skills you can use for a lifetime
Reconnect with your own needs, goals, and sense of self
You deserve the relief of feeling more in control of your emotions and your life — without waiting months to get there. Recovery is possible, and you don’t have to face it alone.
You don’t have to face this alone, we can partner together to discover a path to hope and healing tailored specifically for you. Recovery is possible! You can find the relief you are looking for and feel more in control of your emotions and your life. An intensive is a chance to find healing in a shorter time period than the traditional once a week therapy model. You can develop coping skills that can be accessed and utilized for lifelong use.
WHAT IS AN INTENSIVE?
A therapy intensive is a powerful opportunity for transformation — giving you the time and space to go deeper than a traditional one-hour session allows. Instead of spreading progress over weeks or months, intensives allow us to spend extended time together to address what’s been weighing you down and create real movement toward healing.
At Path to Hope Counseling, our intensives are offered in 3-hour time blocks, giving you the chance to cover more ground and see change sooner. This format is especially effective for challenges like trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief — where weekly therapy can sometimes feel too slow. You can choose a single 3-hour session, two sessions, or a series of three, depending on your needs and goals.
My holistic therapy intensives integrate powerful holistic mind-body approaches, and they can include (depending on client interest and choice):
- Yoga and mindfulness practices
- Meditation and grounding techniques
- Breathwork and expressive arts
- Brainspotting for deep emotional processing
These methods work together to help you release stored tension, process difficult emotions, and reconnect with your sense of self. Whether in person or online, each intensive is a focused, compassionate space designed to help you move forward with clarity, calm, and confidence.

HOW DOES AN INTENSIVE WORK?
During your 3-hour intensive, we create a safe, focused space to work deeply on the challenges that have been holding you back. Every intensive is customized to your needs, so you can choose which healing approaches feel right for you. We can start with some structure but also ebb and flow based on what would be helpful in the moment.
Modalities may include:
- Mindfulness practices
- Grounding exercises
- Breathwork
- Trauma-informed yoga
- Meditation
- Expressive arts
- Brainspotting
We’ll take a short break during the intensive time. The work we do can address areas where you feel “stuck,” explore underlying traumas, and help you process emotions that have been difficult to face.
Your intensive journey includes:
- 90 min Pre-Intensive Interview
- Customized Intensive Workbook created with your individual needs in mind
- 1 to 3 Days of Therapy Intensives (3 to 9 hours Total depending on which option you choose)
- 90 min Post-Intensive Interview
- Upgrades available post intensive for 1 hour Massage therapy/Reiki session or Holistic Alternative Healing by Partnering providers
WHY CHOOSE AN INTENSIVE?
- More effective & efficient than weekly 50-minute sessions
- Accelerated healing in days rather than months
- Deep exploration to resolve difficult memories or experiences
- Focused support without daily distractions
- Holistic integration of mind-body practices

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT HOLISTIC THERAPY INTENSIVES
Therapy Intensives are perfect for people who are motivated and are ready to feel better now. If you’re ready to see things change in your life but you don’t want to wait for that to happen next year – a Therapy Intensive may be right for you. If you’ve tried traditional once a week therapy and are feeling stuck or not making the progress you thought you would, an intensive could be beneficial for you.
If you have a specific topic, trauma, or stressor that you want support with – this can be the focus of your Therapy Intensive. The dedicated time will be customized specifically to you and your goals.
Every client I see I provide treatment through a holistic lens and consider the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—rather than focusing solely on symptoms or specific issues. This approach integrates various therapeutic techniques and practices to address emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. It emphasizes the interconnectedness of these aspects and seeks to promote overall health and balance.
Some holistic modalities I integrate into treatment:
Trauma informed yoga
Meditation
Mindfulness
Breathwork
Brainspotting
Expressive Arts
Due to the nature of typical 50 minute sessions, they only allow about 40 minutes of deep work. Often there are at least 5-10 minutes of “check-in” at the start of the session and usually, 5-10 minutes spent on “closing up” or “checking out” at the end of a session – this doesn’t leave a lot of time for deeper work. Therapy Intensives are different and allow more focused time to go deeper and help you find relief sooner. . A 3-hour Therapy Intensive allows for 2.5 hours of depth work. That’s the equivalent of five 50-minute sessions or more than a month of therapy – in a single day! Overall they are more efficient and effective than traditional once a week therapy.
Definitely! Therapy Intensives work very well as an adjunct therapy. If you can sign a Release of Information so that your current therapist and I can collaborate as a treatment team to best serve your needs.
Therapy Intensives are typically not covered by insurance. However, you can contact your insurance company to see if they may reimburse a portion of the Therapy Intensive. It’s best to call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card to learn the details about your specific plan. Questions to ask:
Do I have a deductible for out-of-network services?
Have I met my deductible and if not how much do I owe?
What CPT billing codes do you reimburse (i.e. 90837 or two 90843 in one day)?
What is the rate of reimbursement for each billing code?
What is the allowable amount for reimbursement?
I can provide a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance company. You are also more than welcome to use your HSA/FSA accounts for payment and full payment is expected for this service.
To reserve your Therapy Intensive I require a A 50% non-refundable deposit. The remaining 50% is due on the first day of the Intensive Session.
